"Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simplier." - Albert Einstein
Leaders drive implementation.
Execution is much easier when there is coaching, learning and encouragement surrounding the use of new technologies to accelerate the tools at hand.
So what could be considered the driving forces of an organization - maybe I should point out those which should be considered as priorities?
Tregoe and Zimmeran (1980) came up with a few - here are my top choices:
1. Market needs. If I am a market driven organization then I am continually surveying potential customers to discover potential unfilled or unmet needs for goods and services.
2. Technology. If I am a technology driven organization then I am continually trying to develop products and services that are based on cutting edge scientific breakthroughs.
3. Production Capability. If I am a capacity driven organization then I have a primary commitment to keeping my existing production capability utilized.
4. Method of Distribution. I can be driven by my distribution methods.
5. Natural Resources. I can be driven by my dependence on natural resources.
6. Size and Growth. If I am a goal driven organization then I am regarding size and growth constantly in order to strive for something more than what I am doing now.
